Baldwin IV and William of Tyre
[Miniature only] Book XXI. Initial 'M'. Baldwin [later Baldwin IV, King of Jerusalem], in dark robe, fighting with another boy; both have bleeding arms, and are encouraged by others behind them. Opposite, Baldwin shows his bleeding arms to a cleric, William, then Archdeacon of Tyre, who discovered from the fact that the wounds did not hurt the boy, that he had leprosy Image taken from History of the Crusades. Originally published/produced in France; between 1250 and 1259.
