Hunting
Sultan Ghiyath al-Din going out hunting with the necessities. Ghiyath Shahi on a hunting expedition escorted by his throne bearers, arms bearers, falconer and mounted attendants. The horses are reminiscent of the raw-boned animals seen in Shiraz paintings of the 1430s. This section is concerned with advice for provisions and tactics used when hunting. Opaque watercolour. Sultanate style. Image taken from The Ni'matnama-i Nasir al-Din Shah. A manuscript on Indian cookery and the preparation of sweetmeats, spices etc. Originally published/produced in 1495 - 1505.
